Beliefs

We hold to a Calvinistic theology, Elder-led church polity, and Baptist affiliation. God reigns supreme over all things in and through His Church. Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, who leads His saints through the guidance of Spirit-led Elders, who answer to the congregation for their decisions. We practice and teach believer's baptism. We believe God has gifted all His children with special and specific gifts to build up the Church family. We also, believe that the local church, though responsible before God for fulfilling the Great Commission and the Great Commandment, does so as part of the wider family of God.

We believe that, though right doctrine does not guarantee right living, bad doctrine will always lead to a failure to live biblically. We strive neither for just right doctrine or for just right living. The Bible, rather talks about being “transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2). We set as our goal the transformation of the mind by teaching God’s people to think God’s thoughts, which will then result in actions that are godly. The Apostle Paul stated that without God’s love in the heart, all outwardly correct actions are empty (1 Corinthians 13, Philippians 3). That is why so often he prayed that the believers would receive from God the love that surpasses knowledge (Ephesians 3:19).

We aim to create a passionate pursuit of God’s glory through the proclamation of truth in love. Since the church is the “pillar and foundation of truth” within its community, those who belong to that truth must know and live the truth (1 Timothy 3:15).
