What to Expect

 
Upon arriving at MBC you will mingle with members and guests wearing casual to traditional attire. An MBC greeter will give you a bulletin outlining the service for that morning. In good weather, the front doors will be open and you may be greeted and welcomed outside the building.
 
Please feel free to ask your greeter questions you may have regarding the location of the church Nursery, children’s ministries for kindergartners through fifth graders, other areas in the building, or the church in general. Families with children have the option of placing those children in well supervised Children’s Ministries or keeping them with them in the adult service. A coat rack is located in the church foyer as well as a rest room for the elderly (additional rest rooms are located down the stairs to your left).
 
You may enter the Auditorium at any time prior to the service which begins at 11:00 AM and meet the friends and members of MBC. Please sit where you are most comfortable. While prelude music is playing and announcements are projected on a screen at the front of the auditorium, take the time to view the stained glass windows original to the church building which was erected in 1897.
 
If you so desire, you may join with several friends and members for a time of prayer before the service begins. The group gathers in the church office located to the right of the church foyer.
 
The service begins with prayer, then sometimes the Senior Choir will sing an anthem. The Worship Team leads the blended music which incorporates hymns with  contemporary praise and worship music, while on special occasions, the “Metro Praise Kids” will bring a musical presentation.
 
Announcements, free will offering, and special activities will follow. During the summer months the children will be dismissed for their children’s programs following a children’s illustrated teaching.
 
Worship continues with the congregation standing for a reading of God’s Word followed by Pastor Chris delivering a relevant message of eternal truth and teaching from God’s Word, the Bible. The singing of a traditional hymn and Pastor Chris’ benediction brings the service to a close after approximately 75 minutes. On the first Sunday of the month, the Lord’s Supper is served following the message.
 
As those in attendance exit the auditorium you may notice many remain for a short time to talk and meet with one another before being greeted personally by Pastor Chris as they depart. On occasion, an after-service time for beverages and finger food is held in Fellowship Hall located in the lower level of the building.
