Christian Growth for Life

The writer of Hebrews exhorts us: “Let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity...” (6:1). At MBC we call that hungering discipleship. The Apostle Peter wrote, “Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18).

While Metropolitan wants to be a teaching church we do not want to be simply an academic institution. It is our goal to excite the disciples of Jesus Christ to hunger to learn and grow by providing strong teaching in a caring environment. We want every believer at Metropolitan to be thoroughly equipped in God’s Word, no matter what the age, while feeling that MBC is a safe place for the family. All staff has received training in child safety and has received clearance by the New York State Police.

Through age-graded curriculums that have been carefully selected to match our doctrinal positions and purpose statement and integrated into a step-by-step development for our children, teens, and adults, we seek to create a passionate pursuit of God’s glory.  While good doctrine does not necessitate that the learner lives out true faith, we believe that without good doctrine no one can truly walk faithfully with God.  Whether in our age-graded Sunday School Learning Centers, small group cells, children and youth programs, or Sunday evening seminars, opportunities for discipleship are available for everyone.
