The Apostle Paul revealed to the Ephesians God’s purpose for the church through missions and evangelism. “His intent was that through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known...” (Ephesians 3:10). Apart from the church carrying out the Great Commission through the Great Commandment, that purpose would not be realized, for "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?" (Romans 10:13-14)
Of all the purposes that God has given to the church, perhaps the most phenomenal is the mission he left for us to do. That mission is the reaching of those who do not know God with the good news of the Gospel. At MBC we pray that every member would enthusiastically desire to spread the Good News both locally and worldwide.
