Christian Growth for Life

The writer of Hebrews exhorts us: “Let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity...” (6:1). At MBC we call that hungering discipleship. The Apostle Peter wrote, “Grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18).

Metropolitan wants to be a teaching church. Yet, we do not want to be simply an academic institution. It is our goal to excite the disciples of Jesus Christ to hunger to learn and grow by providing strong teaching in a caring environment. We want every believer at Metropolitan to be thoroughly equipped in God’s Word.

To that end we have established a series of classes that start with the foundations of the Christian faith, then move the individual to build internally, as well as intellectually, his/her life on God’s truths. Based on Rick Warren’s materials from Saddleback Church, but rewritten to fit the purpose, philosophy, and theology of MBC, all church members are encouraged strongly to participate in these five classes.
