Children
The Bible, which is the Word of God, is the foundation for all of our children’s ministries at Metropolitan. If the children are to trust God, those who work with them must be trustworthy. Every child worker must complete our child protection course and have a background check completed before working in any ministry with children under eighteen years of age.
In our education of children, we believe God desires for us to:
- Develop a solid foundation for living among our children by helping them understand the whole Bible, showing them that the Bible is a revelation of the character and work of God and encouraging them to develop a Biblical worldview.
- We understand that no one, not even children, can truly grasp the uniqueness and wonder of the Biblical revelation apart from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We seek to prepare the hearts for the Holy Spirit to bring forth faith by teaching the children to know the character and promises of God, to recognize their sinful state and to respond in repentance and faith in God. We cultivate, in those who have believed, a love for the Word, a trust in the Faithfulness of God, and a desire to walk in obedience to His revelation in His Word.
