1. The Basics we believe

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. God has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit who carry out distinct but harmonious ministries in the work of creation, providence and redemption. These three are co-equal in every divine perfection and are one God.

2. About the Lord Jesus Christ

​

The Lord Jesus Christ is God's one and only eternal Son, who was conceived in the flesh by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and teachings. The Lord is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. As Christ, He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again someday as judge of the living and the dead.

3. About the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives believers spiritual gifts when they are saved. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.

4. About the Bible

​

The Bible is God’s Word. Its sixty-six books have the same purpose and teaching with no contradictions. Written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit, it was without error in the original and remains the supreme authority of all truth for Christian beliefs and conduct.

5. About Human Beings

​

Human Beings are created in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. Human Beings are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although the human race was created with tremendous potential for good, all of us are totally corrupted by our rebellion against God resulting in physical, spiritual and eternal death. This rebellion, called “sin,” separates people from God and is the cause of all problems in life.

6. About Salvation

​

Salvation is God’s free gift to us, but we must first repent of our rebellion, and then accept His gift. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life to Jesus in faith we are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and transformed into His new creation. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.

7. About Perseverance of the Saints

​

Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ, the true believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. Because of the transforming power of the Holy Spirit, a Christian should live for the glory of God and manifest that love by caring for the rest of the human race. The same Spirit who produced the new birth will enable the believer to live godly before the world, be faithful as a steward of his possessions, seeking for himself and others the full stature of maturity in Christ. The grace and keeping power of God enables the believer to overcome temptation and persevere in righteousness to the end.

8. About Eternity

​

Human Beings were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. Eternal separation from God is Hell with its eternal suffering. Eternal union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. The Lord Jesus Christ will personally and visibly return to earth at the end of this Age. As Jesus Christ physically resurrected, so all who are His will rise from the dead, receiving a new spiritual body.

9. About Ordinances or Sacraments

​

The Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances, sometimes called sacraments, to the local church: baptism and the Lord's Supper. Christian baptism is the immersion of the believer in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that the Lord's Supper, also called communion or the Eucharist, was instituted by Christ to commemorate His death. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed regularly until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

10. About The Church

​

Jesus Christ established one church manifested in many local congregations. The universal church is a living spiritual body made up of all whom Christ has redeemed. The local church consists of professing believers in Jesus Christ, having been baptized on a profession of faith, who carry out the work and ministry of worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry, and missions.

The Basics we believe: Part Two

 

Calvinistic Beliefs: Concepts defined by Calvin that are taught in God’s Word.

1. Total sin: Often called total depravity. We believe the Bible teaches that all thoughts, actions, and words of anyone without Jesus Christ are corrupted by sin. Thus, even good actions or intentions lead to ungodly results.

2. Unconditional selection: By His grace, God chose to save some, not based on anything they had or would do, but based on His own will and purpose.

3. Limited salvation: Jesus death on the cross is only for those who believe. Though the message of the Good News is open to all, the power of the cross comes only to those who, by God’s grace, believe the truth.

4. Irresistible Spirit: Those God chose, the Holy Spirit brings to salvation. God’s purpose in salvation will not be thwarted. The Spirit knows those God elected and works to soften the heart, enlighten the eyes, and regenerate the heart so that individual will understand and respond affirmatively to the truth by faith.

5. Perseverance of the Saints: Since God saved us, then He will keep us. No person can come to God apart from the calling and grace of God. No person who has come to God by faith through the work of the Holy Spirit can remain in the faith by personal will power. It is God who keeps those who belong to Him, completing the work that He began.
